A Queen To Be: Kandi & Todd's Coming to America Themed Wedding

So now that the Wedding has taken place and The Real Housewives of Atlanta spin off confirmed are you just as excited as I am to see the wedding details of this lovely couple?? First pics published by InTouch Weekly reveal a Royal purple, Lush gold and Cream color palette.
Held at Atlanta's Le-Fais Do-Do, April 4, 2014, the inspiration for their fabulous affair is the 1988 movie Coming to America; its significance to Kandi and Todd stems from the couples introduction to each other while vacationing in Africa. Kandi has promised not to hold back on the lavish details like those that were displayed throughout the actuall movie. So far I see sparkling gold chair covers over gold toned chiavari chairs, ostrich feathers, beautiful draping, purple uplighting and cream & gold candle lights to adorn the tables. Admittedly, I am a little underwhelmed by her choice of invitations for such a lush affair but decided to comment and include a photo posted by Straight From the A despite possibably coming accross as a "hater"...lol; because I strongly believe that invitations set the tone of the event and is your guests first insight of whats to come.
Im pretty positive and hopeful that there is way more to come then what little we can see in these first pics. I really didn't care for her choice of tiara or necklace either (a little too pageant/prom looking for me) but the brides sheer nude gown does look to be inspired by the beautiful gold foil leaf looking gown worn by the prince of Zumunda's arranged wife, played by the stunning Vanessa Bell Calloway.
I have high hopes for this affair. InTouch Weekly reports that Kandi "emerged from behind a wall of ostrich feathered fans in a custom Reco Chapple gown with a 12 foot train" Whoa! talk about lux detailing. The entire wedding party, which included matron of honor Tamera Wynn, maid of honor Carmon Cambrice, Tameka ‘Tiny’ Harris, Fantasia Barrino, Love & Hip Hop Atlanta’s Rasheeda Frost, and RHOA’s Phaedra Parks and Joyce Dallas, wore all white and guest was asked to wear shades of purple.

When the spinoff airs I hope to see the likes of energetic Zumundian dancers in full costume. I know you want to say "this is not your wedding"...lol but his display of exotic beauty and choreography, at the ceremony of Prince Akeem's arranged wedding, was one of my favorite parts of the movie.
Kandy told Intouch Weekly that "the whole thing was like a fairytail". Good for her thats the feeling every bride deserves!!

FUN PHOTO PROPS

Photo props are a sure way to add a little extra fun to your event. Section off a space where your guest can find a variety they can use to pose with. What I love most is that photo props really help you capture those memorable moments and all the fun everyone is having. It's fun for all ages and the fact is no matter how nice your still photos are they wont have you laughing for years to come. Props can bring out anyone's goofy side and the result will be priceless. Follow my Pinterest board, Dont just stand there!, for other photo inspiration.

A gigantic polaroid frame prop can be used to transform group pictures into photo-booth style fun. Have several friends join in to create lasting memories, silly faces included.  Write a personalized caption to remember your event.

Grab an extra large picture frame and a magic marker and draw a one dimension shape on the glass of a photo frame for amusement-style photos. Think hats, mustache, smiles and comic-style thinking bubbles.

I love this photo wall featuring life size cutouts so your guest to capture there own spunky poses.
A simple die cut photo frame can enhance an still photo.

Extra large helium filled balloons are simple and chic but also makes a big impact in an otherwise still photo.

How cool is this? Line up your friends and have them write a caption on a blank sheet of paper then take a picture against a blank background. Edit your pictures with event name and date and bam! you have great mug-shot style photos that can be used for ransom later.

A chalkboard back drop is the perfect photo prop and will keep your guest busy. They can create and erase there own special message and be as simple or detailed as they like.

Use sparklers to deliver a simple message.

Who doesn't love silly photos. Young or old your guest will have tons of fun using random props to enhance their photos. Set up a table where your guest can find huge glasses, mustache or lips on a stick, boas, shades, masks and comic book caption bubbles. I promise the laughs are endless.
