Taste Test!

As I plan to make each one of my clients vision come to life in a unique fashion I must suggest the finest items that will bring that vision to fruition. So I start my journey for the best kid friendly macaron NYC has to offer. In this post I will review the choices I tasted for this specific client. I started with the two of the finest french bakeries in the west village, Sugar and Plumm and BisousCiao, and im off to a great start. Lets start off giving kudos shall we?. Sugar and Plumm was super accommodating and assured me that in addition to their traditional flavors and size of their macaron they would be able to accommodate my custom order as I am searching for something of a larger size and taste children will love. I loved the rich color of their macarons. Some macarons have a dull appearance on the outside, but not these, the color was super saturated. The texture was perfect. A slightly crunchy shell on the outside; moist and cake like on the inside. I tried the Strawberry macaron which was adorned with a light sprinkle of poppy seed. I didn't think it would be too overwhelming for the worlds most pickiest eaters. The macarons at Bisousciao were equally as tasty, moist and crunchy on the outside. The big plus here is that they are packed with flavor and OMG as they smell oh so good. I tried the lavender with honey buttercream. Although the smell of lavender drew me in i must say when i bit into the macaron the taste of lavender was light, not too powerful. Actually it was the honey buttercream that had the most kick in this combo. They offer more of an array of flavor combinations; both classic and exotic. You can upgrade your macaron with a custom airbrush design for an additional fee per macaron which i think will be well worth it to jazz up the cute factor. Ok so now onto the the downers :( Outside of the airbrush Bisousciao was not able to accommodate a truly custom order in terms of size and color of each macaron. I would not choose the strawberry poppyseed at Sugar and Plumm for children, however, since they take custom orders I would just have them omit the poppy and i think it will work. So that's my review, That's all folks!
